When you shop early for specials, checkout time is good. Forget it, if buying only a few items, say bread, milk, etc in busy times, as Aldi do not have a fast 12 items or less checkout, compared to other Supermarkets.

Generally, I am a happy Aldi customer. However, today we were inconvenienced when the computer system governing the tills/checkouts at Rosebud Aldi crashed. The staff were great, but we had to vacate the store with our almost purchased goods relegated to the cool room. In this day and age, why don't businesses ensure that super dooper technological whiz bang systems are backed up by a simple manual system ? Other stores keep an old manual card processor under the table. We have seen cities locked down with no power thanks to our "brilliant" technology and the other day Melbourne was at a stand still because of a computer malfunction in a key tunnel. I have returned home, can't contact the store and there is only a central customer service number, not manned on Sundays. Great! Get with the programme, Aldi !
