On signing up to a 3 month upfront membership I realised within first few days that when I move I will be living too far from this centre to get the use so, in line with the terms and conditions, emailed to cancel within the 7 day cooling off period. Completed the cancellation form as requested. Following 12 phones call and 14 emails I finally got confirmation that (on management approval) I would get the refund as per T&C's.
However today (post following up on the payment that hadn't been refunded) I receive an email to say that I wasn't due a refund. They shared the same T&C's with me again that say "a 7 day cooling off period applies to all memberships".
The argument is ongoing and I just want to tip people off at how they can be all about you in the sales period and need 26 contacts to follow-up on Customer Service query after sale.
Be careful!!!
Watch out for the direct debit terms and conditions!
My son has been attending swimming classes at this swimming school for nearly two years. The teachers are great and the pool is nice and warm, so I've hitherto ignored the fact that they charge for lessons through the holidays even if you're away, and there's no option for make- up classes. However, telling me on the fifth of November, when I go to cancel my membership, that they will also bill me for December is just outrageous.
