Even though Alansford is a little town on the outskirts of Warrnambool, it still has the suburban pub feel to it, and not one of those horrid suburban pubs either. Okay, they don't have a beer garden, but they have a nice area that looks out onto the old general store across the road, and there is a little bar that runs long the window sill where you can sit with a beer. The pub also have a bistro (though when I came here it was still pretty early, so it was also quite empty). It's not the easiest place to get to, however it does have a nice feel to it, and at the time I visited it for a drink, it was also quite quiet. I am sure that it has its locals though, however they were present here when I passed through, so in a way it felt as if we had the whole pub to ourselves.
