Alpha Car Hire

I am an 18 year old driver that booked with Alpha Car Hire online. I was happy that I found a company that would hire to someone under 21 so happily paid what I needed to. However, after I had flown 2 hours to Melbourne I arrive at Alpha and they say they can't give me a car because of my age. I clearly stated online that I was under the age of 21 and it still let me book and pay. Alpha did not even offer a refund nor try and help me ammend THEIR mistake! They refused to help and just drove me back to the airport where I was then stranded. WITH NOT EVEN ONE SORRY.. This us not only unprofessional but it is also very unsafe for a company to do. Very dissapointed and will not be reccomending to anyone.

This was an unpleasant experience from beginning to end. Upon arriving at alpha car hire, I was made aware that payment was due even though i had already paid and had a voucher to prove it. I'm not sure who the fault falls on for this, and even though i was not forced to make another payment, it made for a stressful start to my trip. Then, 3 weeks after i returned the vehicle, i noticed a $99 charge on my bank account from alpha car hire. I did not receive any information from alpha as to what the charge was for. No email or phone call was made to me to tell me why i was being charged $99. So, i called the main alpha car hire number. The staff didn't seem at all interested at what i was trying to say and seemed like staff just wanted to get me off the phone as soon as possible. Staff told me the charge was for either a parking violation or speeding ticket and that i needed to contact the claims department, and then quickly gave me an email address before hanging up. ...read more
