Went here for Valentines Day. Heard good things about this restaurant so my expectations were quite high Unfortunately they were not reached on the night. But dont get me wrong, it was still a lovely night though. We just found it a bit too pricey for what they were serving out to us. The food was delicious but serving sizes were quite small and there was nothing to wow about the meals for us. The Traditional Swiss Rschti though were great and the Desserts we ordered were really good - they had wow factors! It was a nice place though. Would Come back again possibly one day.
I went there on my Birthday with my cousin.
I ordered scallops and garlic prawns as a starter.
It was around 7.30pm, when we finished those entree.
And I wanted get main dishes straight away, but It came to me
around 8.30pm. It isn't fast food, but it was too long. Even other
tables which came later than me got main dish first.
Food wasn't bad, but wasn't good too.
I ordered Lamb-rack as medium rare but it was medium.
I could tell. Because my cousin ordered medium.
Those were same.
Server said they could cook again but I was waiting for an hour.
And a staff came to me, and said "I don't like lamb, it's smelly."
What a nice ice-breaking between customer and staff!!!!!
At front, they didn't ask any feedback.
I just heard "See ya." on my back.
That's why they didn't get any award recently.
I absolutely love Alphutte. It's an Adelaide institution and the food is always beautifully cooked and presented. Yes it's comfort food and top notch at that. The service is attention and professional - best of all, it's relatively quiet so you don't have to yell to talk. Try the potato rosti - it's famous and not to be missed. Delicious! Even my fussiest friends haven't been able to find fault with Alphutte when we've dined there because everything on the menu is good.
