Located in Lygon Street, Alpino Restaurant is always buzzing with people. Large menu serving Italian Cuisine consisting of freshly made pastas, pizzas and meat dishes. I tried the Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni which was beautiful, the pasta was fresh, the filling was generous and topped with a fresh tomato sauce. My friend had the Pasta Cabonara which he loved. Beautiful food at a reasonable price.
The food here is fairly average although they do a good marinara. The service was adequate, it could have been more prompt and more friendly. Apparently they also do take-away. To be fair, there was an annoying table of drunks that they were busy ejecting from the establishment, so I think that spoilt the atmosphere. I think if restaurants need to cut costs, getting rid of those annoying spruikers is a good start!
Best experience. These guys have every aspect spot on to making a restaurant provide the best for its customers. Waiters were quick, attentive and friendly from the moment we sat down and very helpful. The owner at the door ensured us that the quality of the food is the best and I was reassured once I had my meal. The waiter recommended Alpino's signature dish, the Alpino Marinara and boy was it good. It is such a great blend of pasta with plenty of seafood topped with a full crab cut in half. With the quality promised I didn't expect to receive such great quantity too. The serving in the dish was quite generous in regards to the tremendous quality of the food and freshness of it's ingredients.
I can guarantee that anyone who comes here will love it as much as I did and I know that I'll be coming back here for sure. This will not be my last time!
