The food is always good at Alto and I now and then pop in for a business meal or drinks with friends.
The service can be a little hit and miss but it's a lovely spot in the Mall opposite the beach with lots of seating options.
Enjoyed the pork sliders for the lunch special recently with a colleague but getting a refill on the drinks was hard, despite the fact there were only three tables being utilised in the whole establishment.
Okay, this is bar is a lot more classier than the Broadbeach tavern on the other side of the shopping centre, and it also has a pretty good view of the beach (or at least the park that runs alongside the beach). As I was walking past I thought that I might have a beer at a place that was a little classier, and yeah I would have to say that this place wasn't bad. They have a decent selection of beers on tap (but then most bars that I visit have that anyway) and there is a nice outdoor area facing the beach. They also have food on offer, though since it was a bit to early for lunch I didn't take advantage of what was on the menu. Actually, they have a fairly well stocked bar, as well as some decent wines available, though unfortunately for the smokers, there isn't a designated smoking area, but there are plenty of other places for smokers to have a drink, such as the Broadbeach Tavern. It's a nice place and I wouldn't mind coming back again sometime.
I had heard so much about this place, mainly because I think the locals go here for breakfast. However, our visit was for lunch with a large group of people and we were there at 12pm. The lunch menu was very limited and also quite expensive for what you got. Not terribly impressed with the quality of the food and the service, considering it was not that busy, was a bit slow! I personally would not go back for seconds as I think there are much better places on the coast now that are serving great food at more reasonable prices.
If its the little things that count, then Alto just blew it.
$1 extra for aioli when it ran out on our chips!!
I regularly bring interstate visitors or business meetings here, and would expect sauce refills from anywhere gratis!
Brought a bunch of teens up for Blues on Broady, drinks all round and some hot chips. Will find somewhere new... Poor effort guys!!!
