Alvin and The Jahbutu Band also specialize in festivals and and love nothing more than teaching steeldrums and percussion. Frontman Alvin Rostant toured the world with the "Cavaliers" who were responcible for introducing the world to the unique sounds of the steeldrum. Still relatively unknown the steeldrums make quite a spectacle at gigs were the pulsating tunes of calypso, reggae, soca and zouk and world folk and covers move the audience into dancing ,humming and definately toes D'tappin! Alvin Rostant is undoubtedly Australias premier steeldrum panist and has been entertaining crowds downunder for over the past 30 years. Most of this time he has been touring with his childrens show "The Banana Joe Show" sponsored by The Queensland Arts Council. It has been so much fun Alvin Rostant found it hard to stop to concentrate on recording his latest Cd. It took alvin 2 years to get the CD completedly but it was worth every minute as the CD "RISE" has received rave reviews. The stell drum is featured on the Cd along with percussionist Trix frging new percussion from his days touring with Roberta Flack. The Jahbutu Band continues to create new music and make waves, and plays at all major venues in Brisbane.
