Amarin Thai Restaurant
The restaurant has a tucked-away feel to it, is tree-fronted, and once inside, earthen-walled, with lavender and timber tables, simple wooden chairs, gabled ceilings, distressed floors, with a little greenery and lovely picture windows. Dishes here are exotic: start with a fresh betel leaf with steamed prawn wrapped in a fine chop of coconut, garlic, ginger, cashews with touches of spice and an aromatic lift of lime juice. A main-course daily special of deboned and deep-fried barramundi comes to the table looking a treat, with two plate-sized fish and plenty of salad. A red curry of duck with lychees, pineapple and red capsicum is well-practised and neatly crafted.

We dined there for the first time and were disappointed. We didn't want a large meal, so we shared three entrees; calarari, fish cakes and vegetarian spring rolls. The spring rolls tasted like they were shop bought from a freezer and the fish cakes were rubbery. The calamari was just ok. A shame because the people were friendly, that's probably why they get repeat business.
I would like to give them another go, so watch this space!
Fantastic food!! Tasted delicious, good value for money.
I was disappointed with the service though, a dish or two were forgotten (we were in a big group) and also had to wait 15 minutes for a beer even though all the other drinks had come out.
Would go back but not for a while
We went for a pre-cinema meal and allowed ourselves plenty of time for dinner cosidering that it was a Saturday night and they would be busy. We needn't have worried. Orders were taken quickly and the food came quickly - almost too quickly! The Larb chicken was delicious as was the bean curd and vegetable dish however, the standout dish was the Pla Nung Manow (steamed barramundi fillets) - the fish was cooked just right.
Excellent Restaurant, and one of the best Thai Restaurants i've been too. have been there quite a few times, because its that good. The Foods I've had there are all delicious, best pepper and garlic pork i've had at a thai restaurant. The Staff is friendly, the service is great and i've ordered take away a couple times as well and its fast. The serving sizes though they may seem small, but they are actually a decent size and do get you full. The price on the other hand also may seem a little overpriced, but i'd pay that for that food and service. Much recommended for me! :)
