I purchased a fish and chip special last week and it was absolutely disgusting. the fish was leathery and stiff, the chips were mush and the whole meal was really small for the price.
It was my first visit and I will never go back.

Literally the worst lunch I have ever had. Couldn't even finish it. The chips tasted like the oil hadn't been change so in weeks and my wrap was overcooked and just tasted awful.
So disappointing considering I've eaten the same meal here a few months ago and it seems the ingredients and quality of the food has gone down hill.
Won't be eating here again.

Out and about shopping when it felt time for lunch, rather than dealing with the over-crowded food court we headed outisde and into Amilly's. It was a gorgeous mid-winters day and the sun was streaming in the bistro blinds keeping everyone nice and warm. The staff were lovely and it was not a long wait to order or to recieve lunch. The chocolate milkshakes were icey cold and nothing fancy - just good-old milkbar style in the cold silver *glasses*, lovely, thick and creamy, for lunch we both opted for the chicken schnitzel (REAL CHICKEN) with chips or chips and salad. The chips are those lovely thick hand cut style chips with *imperfections and all*. Really nice good old fashioned home cooking, nothing fancy and a good feed for the money :-)

Amilly's at Lake Haven is new to the shopping centre and it's in a great location outside and right near a play area for kids - so you can have a meal or coffee and let the kids play, they don't have to feel restricted to sitting at a table with the *adults*. The service was great, we walked in we were offered a menu, picked out a table and then ordered our meals and drinks. We ended up being served by 3 different ladies and all of them were friendly and polite. Hubby enjoyed a cappuccino and I had the chocolate milkshake which was creamy, thick and certainly tasted like Chocolate. We both opted to have the chicken wrap - which was HUGE - and a side of *hand cut chips* - which is something you don't see very often these days. The chips were crispy and lightly salted - not drowning in salt like you get at some of the fast food places...
