Amy Hurd Early Learning Centre
Quality Education and Care for children in the Wagga Wagga region since 1989.Amy Hurd Early Learning Centre is a not-for profit community-based organisation, which has provided quality care and education to children 6 weeks-5 years of age in Wagga for over twenty years. The educators and staff at Amy Hurd provide a warm and caring environment for the children, recognising each child as an individual and focusing on each child?s strengths when providing learning experiences to encourage each child?s development. The learning experiences are provided both indoor and outdoors, allowing the children to learn and explore in all areas of development within either a large group, small group or independently. Amy Hurd Early Learning was opened on the 2nd December 1989, named in memory of Mrs Amy Hurd in recognition for her work and commitment to children with additional needs and community services in Wagga Wagga.
Parents and family members are encouraged to become involved in all aspects of planning and co-ordination of our service; this reinforces the importance of the role that parents play within their child?s development. This includes a sustainability program that is taught to the children.
We encourage involvement from the larger Wagga Wagga community by taking the children on excursions to other child care Centres and preschools as well as the Civic Centre and other local attractions. We invite cultural performances from the local area and from around the world including Aboriginal dance groups and artists as well as African and Spanish performers.
