I have visited this delightful little, somewhat rustic, cafe at Queenscliff a few times. It is at the top of the heart attack stairs on either side - you either walk up from Queenscliff or Freshwater - either staircase is murder haha. Most times I am passing Angel I am trying to breathe and my face is usually bright red covered in sweat haha. I often long to be inside with a nice glass of wine eating some delectable morsels as opposed to trying to be healthy - but I am totally babbling........
The venue is fantastic, the staff are decent and not overly involved in your table. My last visit - where these pics came from was for a birthday party group - our group booked out the back, covered, deck. It has fantastic views over Fairlight and is incredibly light and bright - it is an epic place to to kick back, catch up with mates, drink some beverages and feast. And feast we did. ...read more
This is a very nice cafe restaurant and really enjoyed my breakfast here. I was somewhat disappointed that I only got one egg, two is the standard served with breakfast and seems somewhat penny pinching. These details should be made clearer on the menu. As the total bill was around the $60.00 for two breakfasts and 4 coffees.. I would agree with previous comments that the portions are somewhat small. My partner had the big breakfast which looked excellent (and reasonably sized - neither of us are huge eaters but I was still hungry after I finished). We both agreed that the food was really flavorsome. I though the service was excellent and the view is really lovely.
Had breakfast here.Service was offhand and slow though the place was not busy.Food portions were small which didn't matter as it was generally tasteless.Note to cook-"toast" was soggy bread not toast.Very poor.Cafe Splat over the hill is better on all counts.Great location.
Went for degustation menu. The whole meal took four hours to serve (they recommend 2 hours max) - too much waiting between small courses. Some courses arrived in the wrong order, and matching wines were served over half an hour before the matching food on two occasions. Such a shame because the food was delicious.
