Located on Kirribilli Wharf, this tiny cafe packs a punch when views are concerned. Even though space is limited, there is one larger bench that seats 6. Our party of 4 adults and 1 toddler sat comfortably at two small tables out together. I was surprised that a highchair was available.
The seating areas are separated by the small kitchen and an even smaller loo which looks right out into Sydney Harbour.
The coffee is good, and my dish - the Something Savoury, was right up my alley - a piece of toast served with smashed peas, leek and broad beans, topped ...read more
Had not visited this cafe in a while but came here for a casual breakfast with friends. It is situated right on the Kirribilli ferry wharf.
The menu has a variety of dishes from 'something sweet' to 'something savoury' and my personal favourite the Smithie roll with is ham, coleslaw, onion jam Ina white roll.
I also ordered a blueberry and lavender milkshake which was very yoghurty but was nice and not too sweet.
The something savoury was toast, with peas, broad beans and chorizo. Everything was very nicely presented and the ambience is very casual.
As you walk down a narrow walkway that lies in between some impressive homes, you may feel a tinge of doubt that you are heading in the right direction. Once you reach the kirrabilli ferry wharf, it is quite clear that either a big bunch of people want to catch the ferry or they are lining up for a seat at Anvil... You will soon learn - They are lining up for Anvil!
Put your name down with the front of house as soon as you get there. This humble cafe on the wharf is small, the furnishings are simple (almost an 'under construction' feel) but the food is amazing and the coffee is good!
I ordered the brekkie roll and my friend ordered the 'something savory'. The food is presented really nicely and was the perfect way to kick off the weekend!
The views of the water also make this is a must visit brekkie place!
