Anzac Memorial - Anzac Memorial Building
Hyde Park South
Sydney, NSW, 2000
It might not be a huge as the one in Canberra but it is still pretty massive, and I have to say that when I visited this place I expected it to simply be a list of names of people who had died in war. As it turns out it isn't in fact I couldn't find a single name here. Rather it is a tribute to all the wars that New South Welshmen have fought in. They have the eternal flame in a room in the side, and two levels. The lower level is actually a museum which contains memorabilia brought back from the various wars from the Boer War right through to the Iraq invasion. It doesn't take all that much time to wander through here, unless of course you want to spend some time reflecting, however a visit to Hyde Park is probably not complete without stepping in here. Oh, and you will find a number of other memorials scattered around Hyde Park as well.
