Apollo Bay Hotel
Open today
11:00 am - 11:00 pm
This hotel is by far the busiest in the area. Due to it being on the main drag? No, it is its own special atmosphere. The friendly staff. The great food. The reasonable prices. All combine to make for a fun and very noisy atgmosphere. So if you are looking for a quiet romantic meal somewhere... go elsewhere. This venue is for fun
A nice place to watch the Olympics
During my last trip along the Great Ocean Road I decided that I would spend the night in 'Sunny Apollo Bay' (though I would hardly call it sunny at that particular time), and after checking into a random motel I walked down the main street to this pub for a beer and a meal. The meal itself wasn't bad, and there was a nice outside area facing the beach (though it is not a beachfront hotel because there is a road in the way). Afterwards I made my way to the front bar where I had another beer and watched a random Olympic event on the television (and had decided to cheer on Kazakstan, as they had won more gold medals than Australia at that time).
We had dinner in the bistro, very busy night. Staff we extremely friendly and very helpful. We all started with the Coffin Bay Oyster Kilpatrick, oysters were very fresh Kilpatrick sauce was a tad too sweet.
My husband had the steak and really enjoyed it, both boys had the Chicken Parma, they both enjoyed it except their salad was soaked in dressing. I had the Spaghetti di mare, flavor was fantastic.
Would definitely eat there again.
Went in for dinner. Service was average and had a very cramped feel. The real problem was the value. Paying $16 for calamari entree to recieve 5 calamari and a measly handful of chips is really disappointing. I didn't complain but we come here all the time and simply will never dine there again
