What an absolutely brilliant company. When I called, I was told that they apparently they do not release your pets vet history to you OR anyone unless decided upon by "the owner" of the company. Whom the young lady I spoke to suggested I email directly.
The young lady then went on to say that she does not recommend purchasing insurance at all for your pet. Almost making it sound like they are evil scammers out for our money. I guess "the owner" would just rather people pay tens of thousands of dollars for expensive procedures straight out of pocket than claim it through an insurance company.
Reading below, I sympathize with the other user whom was also denied their pets vet history.
Avoid this place completely.
We have been going to Applecross Vets for 16 years. We have found them always to be accomodating (and I think this depends on what is wrong with your pet at the time of the call) and have always managed to have an appointment on the same day if the issue is urgent. I have also called them out a couple of times early morning. Most vets now don't do the out of hours service anymore and you have to go to an Emergency vet like WAVES or Perth Vet Specialists. They are reasonably priced and if I am concerned for my pet, I will pay the out of hours fee.
If I could give you a zero star rating I would.
Why on earth would you not provide past medical records to pet owners?!?!?!
Our dog needs major surgery and for a week now we have been trying to get you to send vital information to claim pet insurance and you have made it ridiculously difficult. Out of the 4 vets we have had our dogs at NONE of them hesitated to send us the medical history of OUR dogs. Seeing our dog in pain is stressful enough as it is and to be denied medical records makes the situation even worse.
Hello Pekys,
We just had a similar situation where we were denied our pets vet history to the insurance company and even us, the owner of the dog. I'm in the process of writing my own review, in as many places as I possibly can. They need to know about this place.
I hope your dog pulled through despite the setback with your insurance claim.
I have been taking my cat to Applecross Vets on and off for the last fifteen years. The level of care and service depends on the Vet on duty and the receptionist that takes your call to book your pet in to see the vet. Overall I am happy with the care and service provided, however on some occasions when I have tried to make a booking for a vet to assess my cat, my loyalty to the surgery is not recognised which is quite sad and I am told to either wait until the next day for an appointment, pay an out of hours consultation fee for a vet to see my cat or to try somewhere else as they are quite busy.
