Aquacaf
Umbrella-shaded tables tier down decks and sprawl across the grass alongside the old Colorbond building. Dining is done with a Murray view, black swans, skimming pelicans, watercraft and Hindmarsh Island across the steely water. Everything is very coastal casual - except the food and the service.

WOW what a transformation this seaside fish shop has had over the past few years! Gone are the days of battered fish and frozen fries, wrapped in grease soaked paper, this little cafe has taken a basic outlook and boring floor plan and relaunched one of Goolwa and perhaps the south coasts best fish shops come boutique restaurants.
The prices are not cheap for regional fish and chips but the food is utterly divine as is the accompanying wine list. Uniquely serve on wooden chopping boards in paper bags or porcelain bowls are a range of inventive dishes as well as the basic old favourites which are super fresh and completely delicious.
The mains are very filling and no one can go past a serve of hand cut fries yum, yum, but make sure you leave just a bit of room for desert because the lemon meringue is amazing!
This local classic has gone through a few incarnations. Current gossip has it that a couple of Adelaide-based chefs have taken over and using it to express their creativity.
Really great coffee and lovely cakes with gorgeous presentation. Excellent service. Nice location. Opening hours can be a bit iffy and I've been turned away before for coffee, when the place was deserted, just because most tables had lunchtime reserved signs on them, so it's obviously doing decent business. A recent great review in the Qantas mag probably contributed to this.
Lovely service - everyone was very friendly and we were well looked after. The food was delicious - can recommend the fish pasty - it's expensive but worth it. The salads are also really good. I will have to return to try the burgers and the bacon and egg damper rolls - perfect Sunday fare. Good coffee too.
