Our 3.5 year old son has left swimming lessons absolutely petrified of the pool. We decided to pull our son out of lessons when each week his skills and confidence progressively worsened. He started classes a very confident toddler in water and now won’t go near our pool. The instructor didn’t encourage or challenge our son and actually led him to believe it was ok for his skills to regress, even shortening the distance he was made to swim, giving up and allowing him to get away with simply saying no he didn’t want to participate. We are now at a loss where to turn to build his confidence and have him enjoying our pool again and most importantly, gaining the valuable life-saving skill that is being able to swim. We were not contacted to discuss our reason for leaving and the Centre simply replied via email to confirm our request for cancellation was complete.
Go elsewhere would be our advice. We've had 3 children in Aquatic Achievers for 2.5 years & through all the trials & tribulations, finally pulled them out .. like everyone else we know. Gumdale is run by Pej, a Manager who is barely ever around & when he is, spends his time behind a closed door sitting at a desk. He is far too important to deal with the meer likes of 'parents'. The swimming instructors leave weekly & you never know who you will end up with week to week. Recently our son moved into Tom's class, a young, aggressive and rude instructor clearly on a power trip. Our son has been on the brink of tears at the end of every lesson. This is absolutely disgusting. Brenda is another instructor who should not be working there. She had our youngest son for private lessons & I have never seen an instructor care less. Every lesson would start late, she would engage in conversation with anyone passing by, look around the swim centre for the rest of the lesson ...read more
Dear Anonymous Reviewer,
While we love feedback, your comments are perplexing to say the least. Staff members and customers in our organisation know that Pejâ??s dedication, work habits and professionalism are incredible. This is clear from the hundreds of compliments and testimonials he has received from customers over the years regarding his enthusiasm and love of children.
May I suggest you leave peopleâ??s names out of future reviews, as Iâ??m sure you value your privacy and right to respond to criticism just as much as our wonderful staff do.
Best of luck at your next swim school.
Sincerely,
Ben Douglas

Ben is it? That's funny Ben, in 2.5 years we have never seen nor heard of you. Perhaps if you were more involved with your business you would know how it operates, or does not operate. We left for the same reasons many of our peers have. I guess we're all nieve in our regular dealings with your staff. Your negative response to my honest review should enlighten anyone considering joining to the unpleasant & difficult atmosphere that is Aquatic Achievers.
