Since my friend wanted to stop off in Lorne for a bit of a walk I decided that I might try out one of the many cafes along the foreshore to see if they made a decent cup of tea, so I chose this one. The problem I find is that everybody has their own particular tastes, me included. This was a nice place, that served breakfast until 11:00 am, though it was a little crowded (but then again it was the Easter weekend). The tea wasn't bad, though they only gave me one sugar satchel (and since I was being a little picky I felt that I may have upset the waitress, who was lovely by the way). They also have a nice outdoor area which is strictly non-smoking, meaning that you can enjoyed you meal outside on a nice day. The prices weren't too bad, but it certainly wasn't cheap, but then again it is Lorne.
Whilst the decor of this cafe might look great, neither the food nor the service is great. Their pizza that we ordered was greasy, and coffee was served in a dirty glass. Furthermore the service was so slow and unresponsive. There are much better cafes along Mountjoy St in Lorne!
Awful experience. 7 cyclists before a major event in Lorne in search of reasonable pasta. no sign of any management, new or otherwise. poor service, they are arguing with each other. Nearly 2 hours to produce plates of food that were barely satisfactory. many others complaining about long wait, and the place not even full.
