Arkaba Hotel

I'm not really sure what to make of this place, but then again I have never been to the nightclub here, only the sports bar. As a sports bar it is pretty impressive, and literally caters to all the sports nuts out there. In fact I believe it holds itself out as the biggest sports bar in Adelaide (and it certainly is huge). The pub itself is actually quite large, not only with a restaurant, but with rooms available as well. However, in years past this place has been well known for being a venue for live bands, though this was very much in the eighties (these days it is just a nightclub). However, since it is a little way out of the city it is one of those places where you generally stay most of the night, rather than going in and out. I guess I prefer the days when it was a venue for live bands, but that title has been taken over by a number of other pubs.

Chose this place for a ladies night out for my mother and her friends for her birthday. I was told they do 80s-90s music here which was what my mother wanted that is why I decided we might as well do dinner here before dancing. It was our first time here for both dinner and a night out so we were quite looking forward to it, but the start of the night was somewhat, disappointing- with the service that is. When we initially arrived we weren't attended too and we weren't seated down to our prebooked table, I had to chase down a waitress to find our booking and direct us where abouts we were seated, then we sat down, but had no menus. We realized no one was attending to us or was going to give us any menus so I decided to go up again and see what was going on.. The Arkaba Hotel has a massive sports area where you can lay a few horse bets, gamble on the dogs and watch a variety of sports on some huge screens.



The bar is good and the food isn't too bad, but like a few places, it could be done better.
