Designer homewares store with a cafe inside. Fills up on a weekend for brekky/brunch/lunch and has a steady roll of takeaway coffee customers. Standard brunch fare done well, starting at a $11 bacon and egg roll, and getting more inventive with a green eggs benny and a tasty poached eggs with haloumi caprese and pesto dish. Coffee is good and decor is lovely, best spot is still outside on a sunny day.
I believe style and design is important in a cafe, but what is more important is service and value for money. I've tried this cafe and found the price of a meal and coffee to be expensive. On top of that I don't excect to cop attitude from snobby staff. I believe that the customer should always be treated with upmost respect no matter how bad a day the staff are having. Bussiness is not expected it's earned. I will not be returning to "The Armchair Collective" again. Wander down 20 steps or so and you will find one of the locals secret little gems.....shhh
