Ok, there are quite a few theatres in and around Melbourne, but this is the one that stands out because of the huge spire on the roof (which you can see in a number of places, but due to the really tall buildings it does get drowned out). I can't say that I am a regular visitor at this place, namely because I only come here when there is a play that I want to use usually something by the Bell Shakespeare Company, namely because I'm not all that interested in the modern plays that tend to go around the place. Mind you, this place is actually really cool, namely because the theatres are all underground. In fact the theatre that I generally end up at is the Fairfax Theatre, which is even further down than the others there's something cool about watching a play in the depths of the Earth. Another thing I like about this place is that you can take your beers down there as well, which is something that I don't find happening and many of the other theatres I've been to.
I recently went here to see hear the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra concert and had a fantastic night out. The venue a Melbourne Icon and must visit and is easily accesible by public transport (many trams along Swanston Street) and a short 2 minute walk from Flinders Street and and there was a lot of accessible great seating options depending on what tickets you purchase. There are many great dining options along Southbank, and the Arbory is one of my favourites. The staff here are friendly and there is a free cloak room as well.
A unique and beautiful Melbourne landmark from the outside, lots of happening inside! There are always free interesting exhibitions to be enjoyed which changes every couple of months alongside the non-free shows and performances. Clean and beautifully maintained interior and theatres.
