Do *NOT* let these guys touch your car!!
I went to them for a roadworthy certificate. They were rude, impatient, and their workshop was a complete mess. When I got my car back, my plastic bonnet release lever had been snapped down by one of them. They charged me eighty dollars to tell me my car wasn't roadworthy because of that bonnet release lever. They issued me with a paper saying the car was not roadworthy and needed to be compliant within 14 days, and told me I would need to come back and pay them a further seventy dollars to replace it.
I ended up going to a different mechanic for the roadworthy certificate, whom I had a pleasant experience with.
Would rate them 0/5 if I could.
Took an 80 series landcruiser to these people for a gas cert and a road worthy cert. Told me that could not pass this as there was a few issues.
1. Windscreen chip in 3 places that were no larger than 2mm
2. Smelly tree dangling from the mirror
3. Clutch rubber that has the tread worn partly away
4. windscreen wipers that were replace a month before hand
5. Rear lights were obsecured by the spare wheel (in which told us that he refer to ARB to check on the ruling. When you read the book it is not 1 meter it is three) Apart from this told me to pull the wheel off and show them and then put it back on.
I believe safety is paramount and the fact that I run a small mechanic shop in the Gold coast and try to be fair to my own customers. Roadworthy inspections are needed, however I can not understand that chips in the windscreen that look at the bonnet and Smelly trees are concern.
If you need a roadworthy certificate DO NOT go to these people! They failed me for having an air freshner on my windscreen mirror and that my brake lights didnt work. MY BRAKE LIGHTS DO WORK! Absolute fools.
If your brake lights did work, you should have argued that with them. F.Y.I Anything hanging off a rear view mirror is technically illegal in QLD as it's 'distracting' apparently...
