Sure, there are 5 different 'troughs': a traditional Aussie one (with your roasts and condiments), a Chinese one (day old sweet and sour pork? yum yum!) a salad bar (greek salad with the occasional fruit fly!), a dessert bar (don't try the mousse) and an Asian hot plate bar (closes after 7 I think), but is the food any good?
Well, if you don't mind greasy tables, sticky chairs or smelly plates, this is the place for you! Most of the food looks like it's been made at about 10.30am, ready for the first round of feeding at lunch and then sitting there the rest of the day, ready to be stuffed into the faces of eager guests. Relax guys, foods not going anywhere!
This place is ridiculously overpriced at $19.95/person, compared to Burwood RSL at around $15/head, where the food and service is above and beyond any other RSL club Ive been to.
If this review hasnt turned you off, be sure to call ahead and make a booking! Happy dining!
A feeding trough - yea, there's lots of food of different cuisines (a big plus, the reason it got 3 *'s & not 2) and it's fair quality, but the seating is bench style with no choice of where to sit, could end up squeezing in to a seat next to a complete stranger - especially if they're busy, and tables so close together that it's impossible not to bump into each other. The price is fairly good though.
