Can't say I would recommend this company to anyone. Velux, the skylight company, sent Ausbright Skylights from Minto to my place in Oyster Bay to see about a leak in my skylight. They rang my wife last Saturday and advised they were on their way. They Turned up, was on site for 15 minutes, 5 of which was on the phone to me while I was at work. They promised to get back to me on the following Monday with a quote etc. Monday came and went, nothing heard. I finally get an email yesterday afternoon, 5 days late, advising me that the repair will be $1220 plus another $120 for the 15 service fee. Call me a bit odd, but does anyone else think $120/15minutes a bit rich. I think what bothers me the most is their failure to advise in advance of their fee structure. If I had known in advance they charged this sort of money just to have a quick look at a problem I would have made other arrangements. I rang this "gentleman" today after his company contact was given as a point of reference by Velux. First I phoned the number (landline) above and he immediately chastied me for making contact on the number even though it is listed above. I asked him about the call out fee and he said he charges $250.00 call out fee. Interestingly he was actually at home on a Friday. Something not quite right here. I thought that $ 120.00 was bit rich until I was advised that he wanted $250.00 from me. Obviously there is no fee structure in the Skylight Industry.
