Austral Inn Hotel

Stopped by the Austral for a drink after lunch when heading through Quorn on a Flinders Ranges tour.
Enjoyed a wine at the bar and meeting some locals.
Loved that the local gents put together a 'nude calendar' to help a local family in need.
Great Aussie Hotel and just one of a few in town that serviced the old railway line.

We recently stayed at the Austral on our way to the Flinders Ranges. We didn't book but were recommended by the Visitor Centre - Great Recommendation! We ate in the restaurant that night - I had the Schnitzel with outback topping which the young lady behind the bar said was her favourite (I now know why, it was delicious) and my hubby had the Kangaroo which he also loved. The rooms were kept neat and tidy and the staff were extremely friendly. We will definitely be going back to the Austral again one day.

We had an unhappy after taste from this hotel. We left 3 bottles of very expensive wine in one of the rooms and when we realized later that day and contacted the hotel, we were told the staff threw it out because" they thought they were empty". Full bottles? Thought they were empty? The hotel would not respond to any further queries about it. Very unsatisfactory to say the least.
