Spent a great deal of time here on both visits. The visitors' centre is free of charge and encompasses one area of the Division. Set up with short video presentations, also a theatrette and working models, ... it captures the children' interest, with displays and information to aid in further enhancing their knowledge of Antarctica and issues such as global warming, which are otherwise very weakly dicussed subjects (if at all) within primary school education. Of particular interest to my girls, was the working model and satellite video feeds from each of the Australian Stations based in Antartica. They were interested in the updates as they came through, the climate and differing conditions between each station. The cafe downstairs was well staffed and the CHEAPEST meal we had whilst visiting Tasmania. Well done on a really interesting establishment. Well worth the visit and somewhere any child should visit on a trip to Tasmania. We'll be back again.
