Acmi is a great place to visit whether you are from Melbourne or out of town/overseas! There's a cinema which hosts some movies for film festivals, MIFF is one of my favourites and they also showcase some visual arts and various exhibitions throughout the year so be sure check out what's on! The gift shop is a must visit - you can pick up really unique gifts for the loved ones and friends here.

ACMI is an interesting place to visit if you have any interest in the history or film and television or are a movie buff. Many of the exhibits are interactive and actually quite interesting. Definitely worth a visit, at least once. I really like the Federation Square area and find the buildings and concept quite beautiful.

Always something good to see at ACMI. What an asset to Melbourne! They go to lots of trouble for exhibitions and get the details right! Close to transport and beside the beautiful Yarra River. Well worth a visit anytime you're in the CBD.

ACMI is a good place to visit from time to time. Many interesting exhibitions are housed here, including Pixar, Tim Burton, Hollywood Costumes among others. There are 2 other galleries alongside the main exhibition, which are free to go into. Educational and entertaining, various workshops for kids and adults are sometimes available here.

The patchwork buildings were once an interesting concept but they have lost much of the shine and now look less of a feature and more just like slapped together university models. In 2009, it was voted as being the 5th ugliest building in the world by Virtual Tourist - virtualtourist.com.

Regardless of what you think of the design of the place the events and public space is great and very well used. The exhibition I saw was a combined one on the history of Australian TV and the history of film and video ...read more
