For the past 24 years, Australian Nursing and Training Services (ANTs) has been providing invaluable practical skills to students undertaking the courses in Certificate III Aged Care, Disability, Home and Community Care and/or Certificate IV Aged Care. Unlike most training organisations, ANTs is practically based, placing students in a nursing home (with a trainer) from day one of the course. This explains why ANTs has a 98% success rate with employment as most students gain employment almost immediately after completing the course. In fact, many of them have gone on to become Registered Nurses! As you can imagine, this training method is not expense-free. Students do not learn out of textbooks; the whole training occurs in fully functioning nursing homes, which means ANTs has to cover insurance, the training, equipment etc. These expenses are not cheap. People can't expect to undertake a course and not pay for it! ANTs incurs their own ...read more
Have to agree with review below. They are only obligated to the nursing homes requesting for casual staff with little to no concern for what the students (who pay hundreds of dollars) actually want out of the experience. Don't engage with a place that do not have your best interest as a customer in mind.
Sandy Mandy, It is an industry norm that all nursing homes employ their staff as casuals for at least the first 3 months. Our experience is that the casual shifts turn into permanent jobs, training organisations have no control over this norm. Check other similar training courses success rate compared to ours, we are very proud of our students employment success rate. We go over and above with assisting our students even though it is not a requirement as we are not a job placement agency. Graduates are always welcome to ask for help with CV's, applications to employment or further education if unable to cope. We wish you all the best.
I don't recommend this course. They don't provide as much support as they promise. I decided to withdraw from this course due to the lack of support, I understood I would lose my $100.00 deposit. Now a year later they expect me to pay for a course I withdrew from. They don't seem to understand the purpose of a deposit.
Kris Kett, We are unable to find a student of ours by this name. We run support classes every week for no extra cost that offers our students one on one theory support. If any student is having problems they generally call us and if unable to assist them over the phone they can come into our office at their leisure and spend unlimited time with one of our trainers assisting them. We also have a free trial day and students are aware once they decide to attend the training they have to cover all fees. Just the insurance alone per student is very costly. The student has also taken up a place in the course that another paying student could have taken. Isn't it funny that the only criticisms are from people owing us money.
