Australian War Memorial - Head Office

With respect, foolish people say that there is nothing to see in Canberra. Well, you can easily spend two whole days at this great place alone, and do so very happily. The Australian War Memorial/ Museum is above the class of every great state facility, every awesome state militaria collection. This is THE place to learn and appreciate some of the war history that has been so much a part of our nation's history. It is a must visit.

If someone in your family has given the ultimate sacrifice for their country, you will probably find this museum emotional and poignant. It's a beautiful building and has been designed to be special. I'd say anyone who visits will find something meaningful or fascinating here, regardless of your level of personal involvement. There's a lot to see, you could spend 15 minutes or 15 hours here. If you choose the longer, there's a cafe and a restaurant to keep you physically nourished, while you are intellectually and spiritually fed inside.
