Aviation high or "No Aviation High" (as it is commonly known as by its aviation loving students) is a useless school! This school offers no aviation related subjects, or just no aviation in general.
I am in a high grade at Aviation high, I'm a well behaved student and still I have seen no aviation at this "school".
The school has close to no aviation minded people.
If you are reading this because you want to go to "Aviation High" then take my advice and don't go!
YWIN, i agree with you, i myself am in grade 11, my average grade is an A-. i am well behaved i respect teachers and fellow peers and yet i still find that there is minimal aviation, please i am begging you if ou want to go there please dont, my mother and farther said that sending me there was the biggest waste of time and the biggest mistake they have ever made.
Hello all,
With regards to the previous comment I believe that it is an incorrect that this school has aviation. Now yes there are SOME opportunities, however when you stated that "the reason why Those students don't have much aviation is because they have bad behaviour"!!
If that is what you believe then you are more or less saying that the other 98% of the school is misbehaving. With regards to space camp (trip to NASA) you have to pay something like $7000. The air show you attended was for a select few as were the other "opportunities"... I my self a well behaved student who is liked by most teachers, and yet I still have almost no access to the often broken/damaged facilities.
In my opinion the previous Comment is a stereotypical comment that is unfair.
thanks YBBN
I have not been at the school for a very long time, however I agree with blackops, if students are willing to put in the effort, there are many unique and exciting opportunities that are opened to them. And yes, in junior school there is not a HUGE focus on aviation, but in the older grades if you have chosen the right subjects there is a lot of aviation related learning. If you wanted to improve things, why not ACT on it instead of posting on here?
I have just finished at aviation high and had a great time over the last 3 years. In that time I have been to America and Space Camp with NASA. I have been on excursions to RAAF Base Amberley, Brisbane Airport, Canberra and the Defence Force Academy, Bundaberg Air show, Kingaroy UAV challenge, Helicopter trade show at Gold Coast and Virgin Flight Sims to fly 737 simulators.
We also have lots of guest speakers like the head engineer of composites from NASA, RAAF pilots, The pilot that saved the A380 with the engine explosion and ...read more
Same with the last review I have to sadly give some negative comments. I am a student also and I know many students who travel so far for the 'opportunities' that Aviation High promise. I went to the open day and they explain how there are many facilities that allow you to achieve well in the aviation industry. So far i have not been able to use the flight simulators as they are not working order, the only time i was able to access them was the last day of school, the software they use is a cheap software known as FSX (Flight Simulator 10) I bought the software for my computer at home for 50 dollars, they make it sound like its the best possible thing! As for the subject known as Aerospace communications, it is not what it sounds like, it is a English class to 'thinking and solving problems'. Aeroskills technologies is simply wood/metal work where you sometimes make basic models and propellers. Aviation Australia donated a Cessna aircraft for students use. Since ...read more
