What a terrible experience not only did we wait 1.45 hrs for our food but the girl on duty had the gaul to come and tell our table to be quite after such a long wait surely it is understandable that some on the table were slightly intoxicated as they arrived at 6 and weren't served til 9. Unbelievablebly the waitress couldn't see our side and told a 70th birthday party to leave. I have never been treated lie this anywhere please do not visit this place ever under any circumstances
There's some great things about this pub. First up, their choice of seating/dining options - you can choose outside (where it's actually warm even on a winters day thanks to the strip heaters), inside with a view or inside where they'll serve you at the table. Secondly their drink service is really quick and there's a great range of choices for drinks, friendly bar staff. I also loved the decor and just the 'feel' of the place. Food-wise I loved (really loved) the curry, delicious and very filling with the roti, presented in a really appealing manner - I'd go back just for that. Schnitzel was huge and chips were very more-ish.
There were some negatives. I don't like the TAB/betting area being right next to the nicer bistro area, it looks tacky and takes away from the family friendliness in my mind. We were also disappointed that they got 2 steak orders mixed up - one was Medium & the other Medium-Well Done and they swapped the 2 around, ...read more
There is one thing that I really like about this pub, and that is the beer garden, which is also known as 'The Decks'. In fact I like it so much that when I drive past I simply cannot help but pull in to have a beer. On my latest visit I even discovered that they now have craft beers on tap, which simply adds to my impression of this place, and on top of that they also have a decent selection of ciders. The food is also pretty good, and they offer a pretty decent beef schnitzel (just the way I like it). While they do have a sports bar and pokies, they are in another building which just adds to the ambience of the place, and also most of the beer garden is non-smoking, which means that non-smokers can also enjoy a decent meal outside on a really nice day.
