AWU Delicious Food Chinese Restaurant provides excellent surroundings and friendly service. It is an ideal place to enjoy a pleasant meal or business lunch. We are open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday and for dinner daily. Fully licensed and BYO wine only. Reservations appreciated on Friday and Saturday nights.

Conveniently open every day and until late which is unusual for Hobart as everything seems to close up shop by 9pm, AWU serves dine in and take-away Chinese food which is super convenient is you are staying at the apartments nearby on holidays. We tried the Szechuan spicy beef, kung Bo Chicken and the fried rice and even though the food was nice, all the dishes were very oily. The service is quick and friendly.
This is one of our go to Asian restaurants in Hobart. The food is always good, the staff are always pleasant and the spring rolls and crisy prawns are my favourites. Both are crispy (not greasy), cooked to perfection and come complete with a very flavourful dipping sauce. I would recommend it.
Actually, we are very disappointed with the restaurant service. Firstly, they forgot to bring the drink we ordered. Then they asked us to move to the other table for the new group even if they have confirmed we don't need to move table when we asked.
When we went to pay, they charged us 10% service fee (we were not wared this fee until we went to pay.)
The food is very ordinary.
Four of us went for dinner on Tuesday 18 December. We were greeted with smiles from every staff member. The service was wonderful. Very attentive staff. For entrees we ordered the pork and celery dumplings, the seafood soup and the chicken and corn soup. Not a complaint to be heard as we all agreed the entrees were awesome. I ordered the Pong Bo Chicken. It was absolutely out of this world. My husband and a friend ordered the Sesame Beef. Again the dish was done to perfection. What amazed me most was the beef was extremely tender without any fatty sections. Our other friend ordered the Lemon Chicken and was duly impressed. This is a place we will frequent often when in the mood for Chinese. Prices were good and the restaurant was clean and not too big. Hobart's best kept secret. Congratulations to the entire staff.
