Bagan on Boulevarde
A unique and delightful restaurant can be found on The Boulevard in Strathfield. Bagan, Sydney's only Burmese eatery can be found at number 41.
Although relatively unknown across the city, this Asian cuisine is a hit with Strathfield locals. On any given night Bagan is teeming with customers.
And its appeal? Burma borders China and Thailand and fuses flavours from each to create a mouthwatering taste experience.

Before you ignore the rest of my review, read this: ORDER THE LAKSA! Having said that, everything is delicious, but the laksa is the best.
Now onto the more mundane...This isn't a big restaurant, but if you're there when it's not busy then you'll enjoy it more. Great prices - most meals around $10, and entrees around $5. Huge serving sizes, we ate for $50 for a family of 4 and were really full at the end. Photos on this site were of our meal - Bee Hoon was nice, Fried rice was delicious & laksa was superdiddlyscrumptiouslyfantastic!!
Nice atmosphere, interesting photos/pictures in the wall. Staff have passable English though some struggled with ?'s.
I'll be back!
Boasting the title of first Burmese restaurant in Sydney, Bagan is a crazy treat for your tastebuds! A fusion of Chinese and Indian cuisines, Burmese fare is something everyone must try. My faves: the crispy salt and pepper fried tofu, stir fried veggies and Burmese style biriyani (the chunk of chicken is unbelievable). Go with a crowd, or go on your lonesome - either way, you're looking at paying under $20 for unbelievable food and outstanding value.
A really reasonably priced menu with a huge selection of very tasty and generously sized dishes - ate there with 6 people today and only cost about $80. Only -ves are it's a bit small and so it does get busy (though service is still fast), and it's hard to get a park. Recommended.
