The pies here are pretty good and very filling, I love the lamb pie best. The shop is a great little place out of the way to sit and relax. I agree the coffees aren't the best, and the queues can get pretty long - but that just shows their popularity.

Good pies- can't go wrong with the lamb or potato meat pie! Aussie favourites on flakey pastry.

Used to enjoy a coffee and pie or sausage roll outside regularly when walking the dogs (both impeccably behaved). Was willing to forgive the slooooow service and average coffee for the peaceful setting. Thrown out before I could sit down today by a staff quoting council regulations (wrong) and when challenged they said it is their business policy. Never had been before! In all fairness, this staff is seldom in the front of house and may be rusty on their knowledge of the 'norms' of the front of house. Don't go there if you are watching the time, have children or pets. Many other businesses in Blackheath will happily welcome your custom and your charges, whether children or pets. Rude, slow and below par coffee with no respect for repeat customers. Also charge extra to eat in.

We stopped by again enroute to Wolgan Valley. We were famished and had a pie and coffee each. The pies were still good, coffees not so much.

Came back again more recently and while the pies we had were good, they didn't blow my mind so much.
