Bespoke. Furniture. Objects. DesignBangs Boutique is the brainchild of designer Drew Sinclair, specialising in steel and hardwood bespoke furniture and fit outs.
Bangs Boutique uses salvaged/reclaimed Australian and New Zealand hardwood and steel in a modern, industrial and minimalist approach. Drawing from old techniques and inspired by modern aesthetics.
The timber has already had a life and a function elsewhere and has many original features including nail holes, sap veins, notches and boltholes. Variations in tones and markings are all part of the materials used and are therefore appreciated as a story within the final piece. The process of construction is often highlighted in its final form and function.
No two pieces of timber are identical, bringing an element of originality to each piece of furniture that is handmade in Bangs Boutique?s Melbourne studio.
Custom designs can be ordered to suit the client?s needs in many ways ? including size, materials, tone, finishes and construction and can all be bought together to compliment or contrast its environment while serving its function.
