Actually, I did quite like this pub, though that probably has a lot to do with the really nice beer garden out the back, and also the rather nice selection of tap beers. However, that is probably something that one should expect from a pub located in the heart of Newtown, so I will certainly give it the benefit for that. The other thing is that the place was certainly quite lively and colourful, though it can be difficult to find a seat at times.

For pub Thai food, it's hounestly not bad. I went here last week and found it still pumping out reasonably fresh meals. Unfortunently the balancing is not on par with the better thai restraunts of the area (thairific, thaipothong and 3 mangoes).
Given the fact their drinks are as overpriced as websters, I would not buy food here out of principle.

Quality wise i would give it 3 stars, but given the fact they price this very cheap style of food as high as all the better restraunts that offer higher quality atmosphere and food, I would say stick to traditional aussy pub grub in newtown if your at any of the hotels, and go to one of the top 3 thai restraunts (mentioned in last brackets) that have stood the test of time and managed to survive the critics of newtown in a period when it was all about the food and atmosphere people created it to be (pre yuppi erra).

Regular post training saturday lunch hang out. Service is great, waiting times are reasonable and seemingly easy going crowd. I have my steak medium to well and it never lets me down. Thanks guys! Nice outdoor areas with all the creature comforts of a homely pub.

Fond memories of The Bank's days as a lesbian hang keeps me coming back. Since Baird's lockout laws it's gone a bit more mainstream but still a nice place to sink some beers.

This place is massive. Nice outside seating areas and I quite like the downstairs restaurants and decent drinks! The area closest to the main road is a bit average and looks like a pub. But everywhere else is quite good.
