I am VERY, VERY disappointed that today OCT 9 I find the butchers opposite Woollies in Bankstown Central has had to close! I am a pensioner and found it wonderful to be able to purchase ONE PIECE/SLICE of meat or chicken etc! Now I have to walk the other end of the complex to find this option and let me tell you this is not always available AND if Woollies think they wil get my business they are very much mistaken unless they can cater for US pensioners!
Do not waste your time with this place especially if you're looking for KMart and Target. Both these stores are below standard compared to other areas.
It refurbed partially and the stores once you're in are OK however parking being awkward to access is not worth the angst.
This place is so difficult to find parking, once it took over 10 minutes to find a park. As parking is free, people that work in adjacent buildings to this shopping centre park at the centre and fill up the carpark making it very difficult for shoppers to find a park.
The shops are sprawled over a couple of streets so forget going to Target and then to Woolworths for example, as it is quite a hike. You need to drive out of the carpark and go to the other one and park again.
it is not time saver friendly.
To call this sprawling mass of shops a 'shopping centre' isn't really accurate. It's impossible to park anywhere handy because it's made up of 3 distinct sections that link by seemingly hidden pathways - whatever you do, don't expect to only drop in for something here. Its saving grace is the range of (especially fashion) shops with reasonable prices, but I never enjoy a visit here because I never know how to get anywhere - and there's a lack of centre maps.
I love going to Centro (once known as just - Bankstown Square) I have been shopping here for as long as I can remember, and have seen the whole area change and grow. With free parking, a huge variety of shops and a large BIG W store, everything is under one roof. The food court is growing with some more new outlets, the only downer is the *loss* of EZY-DVD the only dedicated DVD store there. Some of my favourite stores include Dusk, Sanity, K-Mart and Big W. I have found it a great place to take visitors as well, you can spend a day wandering around and have lunch.
