... on this very cold Sydney night, this self acclaimed 'family restaurant' kicked out my family for being "unable to control my kids!" .. my two kids have just turned 3 and 5 years old and were being kids, they were playing and carrying on as they do at that age when a man (assuming it was the manager?) stormed over to our table and abruptly told us to "control our kids" and that a customer left because of the noise.. there was only 2 people sitting around us. Moments later he came storming back telling us to leave, because we cannot 'control' (this choice of wording was totally inappropriate, basically comparing my kids to caged animals that they should be) the kids and other parents do! We explained their ages and he did not give a toss, I even told him that my husband and I go there everyweek and he told us to find another place! I had always come here for gelato which I love but never had a proper meal here until now. I wondered why I waited so long! A classic trattoria with chequered tables, no fuss service & food. There is a lot to choose from the menu - pastas & pizzas, chicken & veal. The pastas were all delicious, simple & cooked perfectly al dente. The pizza generous in size and very tasty. Good comments from our group were made about the veal dishes & chicken parmigiana. The winning desserts were the mascarpone & chocolate mousse and for those of us who couldn't go past the gelato, it was excellent as usual. BYO at no charge but cash only.

Leichhardt Italian stalwart - long narrow restaurant offering outdoor tables at either end, plus indoor ones as well. Known for cheap pastas, arancini, coffees and gelato.

Great local venue especially love the ice cream and marscapone.
Always reliable for late night coffee

Proper old Leichhardt Italian classic. Full of regulars popping in for gnocchi, gelato or a coffee ("no decaf! No skim!" hehe). Gotta check this one out for the real Leichhardt experience!
