We have had lunch here many times and the Parma's are one of the best in the area and only $15.5o and a really good size. Haven't had dinner there as the dinner menu different to lunch and also a lot dearer. Also would not go on a Sunday as they hike up the prices $2 or so a meal which adds up when your feeding a family.
My family and I were invited to a birthday party/dinner. Apparently, even as the person was organising the dinner, they were given 'grief' by the staff they contacted. Upon arriving, we waited a long period of time to order our meal. Then, whilst lining up to make our order, another staff very rudely told all of us (in an extremely terse manner) that we couldn't stand where we were standing (in an orderly single file line in front of the cashier...duh!?). No, we had to line up 'sideways and stand on the tiles'. Subsequently our turn came to make our orders. I smiled and said, 'yes...probably easier to put us all on the same order, but this lady (indicting a woman two persons behind me in the line) is at another table'. The management grunted 'oh, yeah ok'. I ordered, my mother ordered and the staff then went to section off our orders (because the next woman wasn't in our group)... I'm a sucker for a pub that sells Coopers on tap, so the Lakes has my vote. Situated 12 kms form Bundaberg, on the coast at the Southern most tip of the Great Barrier Reef, this newly built establishment looks a bit too much like a services club for me, but the food is good and the beer is cold.
