I've had Indian at a lot of restaurants around Brisbane, and keep going back to Bashori. We've been going there for about 2 years now. Sometimes we order takeaway, which usually takes about 30 minutes. Their banquets are a great deal, at about $22 a head. The curry is usually really tasty, and the food is consistently good in my opinion. Often we eat there, and we've introduced many family and friends to Bashori, and they love it too. It's got great food, pretty good service, it's b.y.o, they're friendly, and generally aim to please, and it's well priced :-).
This is the best Indian in brisbane i have had so far - and i have tried many. I have been there more than 5 times it is so good. eat in is better than takeaway as it is at any restaraunt - but takeaway is still good. ive never had anyting bad from there and i have almost got through the whole menu. meat is always tender, if you ask for something 'hot', its just that. all meals come with complimentry yellow rice, portion size is great. and the price is unmatched for what you get. some of the best on their menu is the Bashori Lamb special, Korma and Sagwala, tandoori chicken pieces for entree the Kashmiri naan is killer too!!
Only bad point is if you eat in on a Friday or Saturday night you can wait a bit long, this is only because they make everything fresh though. take some drinks, nibble on the free papadums, order an entree(which comes out quick) have a chat and watch some bollywood on the big screen.
I have to share with you a DISGUSTING experience with this business. We ordered butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, garlic and peshwari naan. The naan was dry, the garlic naan was spread with minced garlic from a jar after it had been cooked, and the peshwari had no nuts just a (christmas mince pies) mixed fruit mush - including the green and red glaze cherries. The naan itself was small, dry and after one bite we threw both away.
the curries were no better. the chicken had 5 small pieces grade sinew in a thick glue, the rogan josh had heaps of meat- all low food grade, and again, a goo sauce that was unreconisable as curry. It would have been better to drink a jar of cold pataks curry sauce. This is definatley the worst money I have ever wasted on food in my life. I will never return, and hope to ensure you dont waste your time either.
