This is the worst bike shop in Sydney, do not buy or take your bike there for service.

Worst bike shop in Sydney. Service is disgusting. Young Asian staff is rude, has no customer service skills and puts tyres on the wrong way. This staff member needs some intensive customer service training. I will never go back! Disgusting to say the least. The staff there have no idea about customer service. About a month after buying buying my bike, I went in regarding a fault, the staff did not trouble shoot, instead said I need to buy the part. They just want to sell. I have never EVER experienced service like this.

Bought a bike elsewhere and it was missing a rear reflector.

I went in and they gave me one for free.

Will definitely be coming back to buy other upgrades.

Recently took my 2 bikes to get full services and slicks put on. My father inlaw picked up the bikes placed them on a bike rack and then moved them into the garage for approximately 1 week. We then were about to head out on a ride when we realised one of the bikes back when was loose and the rear brakes was non-existent (following a service?). Upon returning to the bike shop to explain the situation, Mr Bates himself flatly refused to take any responsibility and continued to blame me for the situation. The service was eventually performed on the bike but the complete denial and lack of ownership was the infuriating part. If you have any choice stay clear of this place, no customer service skills...

Recently made a purchase of bike kickstands. The kickstands did not fit my bikes so I returned to Bates Bikes requesting a refund. They refused to refund my money and offered a store credit. If only I had been informed of thier no refunds policy I may not have purchased the items. This is a warning to other of Bates Bikes policy so it does not happen ti them. Bob
