Bel Mondo
Bel Mondo is located in an envious position. The bar opens out onto a balcony that encapsulates the Harbour Bridge, Federation House and glimpses the Opera House. The elegant and modern bar compliments the fine dinning room. The space is reminiscent of a loft in New York. The elegant dinning setting is exposed to their state of the art kitchen. They also boast a friendly staff and atmosphere to ensure an enjoyable evening of Modern Australian cuisine.

Bel Mondo was such a hit about ten years ago I was really looking forward to returning. I was a little disappointed, not because of the service as it was very good, but let down by the food. I enjoyed the lamb and risotto but found the creme caramel dessert weird. It came with a sprig of lettuce on top and some shavings of celery. At first I thought it was candied fruit, but no, pretty sure it was lettuce and celery. I didn't say anything thinking I must have missed it on the menu. I'm still perplexed as I write this.
I'm not a fan of restaurants that have two course fixed price menus either. Whilst it probably represents decent value I couldn't help feel it was a little desperate.
Belmondo was such a star ten years ago I can't help feel Sydney dining has moved ahead whilst here is a little stuck in the past.
Bel Mondo has an exceptional reputation for exquisite meals and fantastic service. Words can't describe how delicious my Bel Mondo experiences have been.
Walking into the restaurant is like walking into a chic studio apartment. With views of the harbour and the Rocks, no one could complain. The tables are situated close enough to each other that you don't feel like you're dining in an abandoned warehouse but distant enough to feel a desirable sense of intimacy.
The service is and has always been outstanding. The first time I dined at Bel Mondo it was for a friends birthday dinner and the incredibly friendly ...read more
Another year, another work Christmas dinner.
When you hear the words Work Christmas Party the image of cheap and nasty alcohol, accompanied by sub-standard meals springs to mind.
Bel Mondo is far from your typical Christmas dinner venue. Located in the mysterious area of Gloucester walk in the rocks, this place has a nice balcony that overlooks the harbour bridge. The dcor was quite nice but not too overwhelming and the bar has a nice place to just relax.
The food, the wine, the service, the atmosphere, the view it was all exceptional. We had canapes and a three course meal, and there each meal was delicious. I was also impressed at how all the food came out for once (this is for over 70 people!)
I had a sneek peak at their a la carte menu and the prices look fairly decent, and I would definitely come back here for a meal.
Highly recommended!
