Bendigo Bank
I really though Bendigo Bank would offer a reasonable level of service, but was absolutely outraged when the Doncaster branch provided inconsistent and inaccurate advice on a term deposit that needed to be removed early costing me $6,295 in lost interest. Instead of paying 3.55% interest, they paid 0.25% interest. They are entitled to do this, but were negligent in that they provided inconsistent and inaccurate advice four months prior to the date at which the funds were removed, and never advised that the 'interest rate adjustment' effectively meant no interest, which meant I left the money in the term deposit for almost 4 months during which time they were earning significant interest on the money that was never returned to me. They also said that they would return the full 3.55% interest, but later changed their mind on this and paid only 0.25%. I would very strongly advise against banking with Bendigo Bank.
