The Hotel has been renovated and has a lovely beer garden and childrens play area. The Hotel is located right in the centre of the township of Berry and has a 20 seat bus for guests to tour the local wineries or for picnics, beach trips and bushwalks. The Hotel caters for breakfast daily from 8am - 11am, lunch from 2 noon daily until 2.30pm. The popular restaurant is open daily with the cuisine being comtemporary Australian. The Hotel is also a popular meeting place for many. The Hotel Berry is a member of Pubstay and over the past few years has won A.H.A. Excellence awards for best Country Restaurant, and best in Country Style Accommodation and Tours.
Oh Berry, it's such a quaint little area yet this hotel never fails to disappoint me. I always go in hoping against all hopes that they will surprise me greatly... Maybe one day... or not.
My first beef is with the staff. They are rude. Not gracious, or polite or just flat out from a long hard day, they are really rather rude - they shut you down mid sentence, fail at any kind of customer service... I've visited Berry many times over the years but have never eaten at the Hotel Berry until yesterday. We ate lunch there and I was impressed with the quality of the food, especially for pub food. The staff were friendly and we sat in a room with an open log fire, which was a lovely way to escape the cold and have a break from our shopping expedition. There's a good selection on the menu and it is also child friendly.
