Berth Restaurant

I recently came here for a friend's birthday. The place consists of some spectacular sea and city views which makes it great. I ordered a stake and it was cooked to perfection. Their staff are friendly and accommodating. Would definitely come back in the future

This place is popular. It has a nice outlook, from New Quay over the water to Melbourne's western city skyline. I enjoy a Cauliflower Soup, which is served in a dish larger than the table; then a Kangaroo Fillet with Garden Salad. The soup is fine, perhaps not quite hot enough - but that's a particular bug bear of mine, so others may not think so. The Kangaroo is beautifully presented, but I've had it more tender elsewhere. The serving size is good. Garden salad nice. The cocktails are meagre - my Bloody Mary is served in a tumbler (bizarre) and mostly ice. Service is obviously not their key focus - my impression is that most of these servers are new at this job - they do strange things - bring a fresh drink and not take the finished glass away, deliver my main meal and serve it to the vacant seat, not to me (see what I mean?). Had lunch there & I had a really bad experience! Their seafood was terrible, it was overcooked & lacked flavour. Definitely will not be going back.

Must try chef's special. ...delicious desert.

I organised a Christmas lunch there with work colleagues. We had a fairly large group (almost 30) and had a set menu (entree and main) for $44 per head. I couldn't fault this restaurant. The food was excellent, many people had calamari for the entree which was cooked pretty much to perfection. Others had arancini or beef salad which were really good. The mains we ordered were mainly steak, lamb shanks and barramundi. Many comments came back to me about the food and were all positive. Those that had steak were very happy with the way it was cooked. The shanks were very tender and the meat was falling off the bone.



The waiter service was very prompt and friendly. I got the impression that nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this restaurant.



I have been there three times now and it has been a positive experience each time.
