We bought 2 chickens from you on xmas eve. We took them straight home and put then in the fridge ready to cook up for xmas lunch. We pulled them out to prepare for lunch and when we pulled out of the bag both chickens smelled rather bad, there is no way we can cook and serve these so thanks Berties Buthcher for ruining our Christmas I hope no one else gets bad chickens like us.
there is a caf now at the rear of this butcher (you can access it from train station car park in shakespeare place). open wed- sun for lunch, we visited on an extremely hot weekday. small area inside with 2-3 tables and medium sized quaint courtyard with more seating outside with vertical herb gardens, etc. they usually have 2-3 salads of day available and 2 types of meat, but on our day the 2nd type of meat had not been prepared in time so we had the pulled pork, I don't like pork but it was moist and tasty, although the tomato type sauce on top was unnecessary, the 3 salad options were sweet potato and couscous, coleslaw and quonia with another vegie. I think it was about $15 for a large serving of the meat choice and 3 salads which is super reasonable. home made iced tea - peach, is available, coffees such as iced lattes, ready made drinks. we had an iced coffee frappe which was super refreshing and we ordered another a little bit stronger, as they are a bit ...read more
