Bhaji On The Beach
Fine South Indian CuisineFeaturing uniquely south Indian cuisine, Bhaji on the Beach is especially good for vegetarians, the health conscious and seafood lovers. However, there is plenty here for those not fitting into these three categories. Try the fragrant jayara fish curry with medium-hot spices, dosai with your choice of chicken, minced lamb or paneer, or chicken chettinad (south Indian curry with coconut and black pepper).
We are fully licensed and do BYO wine only. A private dining area is available upstairs for functions, parties and meetings (email [email protected]).

Seriously. Half a star? Not Bhaji on the Beach. I am seriously suspicious of people who have a grand total of one review and for that review they give 1 star or below. Especially when others give it 5 stars. I've eaten in many many South Indian restaurants including Rasa Samudra - owned by one of Jamie Oliver's mates: Daz. Bhaji on the Beach, even on its worst off day would not deserve 1 or half a star. In all seriousness I'd give it 4, but I gave it 5 to bump up its averages. We tried the lamb dosa, the Avial and the Prawn Balchoo. All were way above average. I usually travel all the way to Terry Hills for a decent curry (Urban Tadkha), but I'd be very happy to return to Bhajis. Service - excellent - friendly and efficient. Food did take a few minutes to arrive - but I want my food fresh, not out of a bain marie. I'm sure Bhajis don't really care about good or bad reviews, as the place was full of repeat customers.
