The year was 2014. I made a simple purchase, an effective purchase, a purchase that would change my life forever. It was a swealtering day, and I was hanging at Paddy's old place down near Alderly station. Suddenly a grumble, an urge, a yearn, for a crisp smooth velety chocolate whip of fine icecream. Immediately we scrambled down to our humble home, a delight of delights, Bi-Lo Alderly. The purchase was swift and effective, and soon me and the boys were chomping down on a 4 pack of Cadbury Marvellous Creations Icecream.
Tragically, this Bi-Lo has since been closed down in favour of a Coles. And after July 30th Bi-Lo itself, once a formidable Australian Icon, now faded into the dusk. What happened to Huey, the Docket man, and the plethora of Geniune Aussie characters that brought life into our fuzzy analouge screens in the name of this great company? A waste. All for a lifeless, soul-less bland coles. An era has come to a brutal end.
My second time going there the manager ask me to empty my pockets. I bought 300grams of mushrooms and got back home to realise I had been charged for an extra kilo. 20% of the stuff I need keeps running out. When that happens they give you a $2 voucher and they do it for my friends and family but never for me I don't know why! And they keep grabbing the drink cans from the top to be scanned which is where your mouth goes when you drink it. If you go to a bar they never grab a glass from the top they pick it up from the side!
