Big Bite On Pitt
Closed until Sunday
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Shop 3, 250 Pitt St
Sydney, NSW, 2000
This lunchtime institution serves sandwiches that are bigger than Ben Hur, and you'll want to get there before midday to avoid the queues that snake out onto the street from this small sandwich shop located inside this Pitt Street arcade.
There's a small menu of ten or so regular sandwiches and a daily special like the Thursday roast lamb. Excellent value.
Not sure what all the fuss is about... yes it's a big sandwich, but the schnitzel is pre-cooked, damp and not at all crispy, no cheese on my preferred sandwich and at $10, not really that great value. Had better sandwiches, though for the size, that is probably where the value is.
I tried this place a couple of weeks ago. The chilli chicken was absolutely incredible: tasty, fresh ingredients and the sandwich itself was huge! Service is also friendly and the price is reasonable given how large the serving is. The only issue was actually finding the place (it is on Pitt St in a little mall opposite the Hilton Hotel).
Yum! If I wanted a sandwich in my old job I would often head to big bite. I have since moved a miss this place.
The options are numerous and the size is always the same
- huge! Oftentimes I would split the sand wedge with a friend. All in all, quality food and service.
Only drawback is its location in a slightly seedy area of a kinda seedy Laneway mall. Get over it and eat up!
